How to gain driving licence

Theory Test
You must pass your theory and hazard perception test and you must have a provisional licence to be able to take these sections. Prepare for your test by making sure you have a thorough understanding of the Highway Code and the kind of questions you’ll have to answer.

Hazard Perception Test
The Hazard Perception test follows the theory test which will feature real road scenes and developing hazards of various types such as vehicles and pedestrians.

Driving Test
This involves both practical driving and the show me and it will take about 40 minutes. You will drive the car with the examiner sitting in the passenger seat and giving you instructions regarding the route and manoeuvres he or she wants you to carry out.

You can also chose to have your instructor present in the car if you wish.

Show Me, Tell Me
This will be carried out at the beginning of your practical test. You will be asked to 'show and tell' how you would carry out safety and maintenance checks on your car. You‘ll need to answer two questions correctly. Answering one or both of your questions incorrectly will count as a driving fault in your test. There are only 19 questions the examiner can choose from so with the correct study it will not be difficult to answer the questions correctly.
